It is tax rebate and rent rebate time in Pennsylvania. This great program helps our seniors, disabled and widows with up to a $1,000.00 rebate. Please follow my official Facebook page for more information from the state Rep. Jim Haddock... See MoreSee Less
An update on this yearβs budget from Governor Shapiro. The budget proposal is a good starting point. I will attending a few budget hearings over the next few weeks for committees I serve on. For more updates please follow my official state FB page Rep. Jim Haddock. Thank you. ... See MoreSee Less
No Jim, this is actually a very irresponsible budget proposal which will only grow PA government even larger without the necessary revenue streams to sustain it in future years.
It proposes to increase government spending by almost 8% while relying on revenue projections of 2.8%, including controversial revenue streams like marijuana legalization and increased taxes on games of chance which don't even exist as of this moment. Governor Shapiro also wants to raid the nearly three billion dollar General Fund surplus to cover the 3%+ shortfall. So, what happens when the state has an emergency and needs that money?
I also think it's preposterous to blindly throw another 1 billion dollars at the failing public school system that continues to post terrible performance metrics and has virtually no accountability to the taxpayers. The state should be looking to implement competition with universal school choice where the funding follows the student and gives parents the freedom to choose a school that best fits their child’s unique needs.
I would ask you not to support this unrealistic budget proposal but rather, look for ways to streamline our government, root out the waste, and address PA's growing public debt while holding the line on taxes and continuing to fund necessary programs.
It's a horrible budget and tax payers will be screwed for years to come. More lies from Democrats.
Glad to be a working partner with Pittson City on many of their great projects. Please watch this informative video. Also follow my official FB Rep. Jim Haddock . Thank you! ... See MoreSee Less
Had to stop by on swearing in day to say hello to a group of nurses at the Capital. I am a big supporter of Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses & Allied Professionals because of the valuable work they preform 24/7. Holidays, birthdays, weekends it does not matter. Our nurses and heath care professionals answer the call. ... See MoreSee Less
