Over the course of my career I have successfully fought for many things that effected our citizens.  Among them were:

• Protecting our environment and fighting for us!  As Mayor of Avoca Jim stood up to corporate polluter Kerr-McGee who had exposed over 5,000 residents to carcinogens and secured justice for our neighbors and towns.

• Increasing public education funding while holding the line on local property taxes. Jim served as a Pittston Area school director for 6 years where he fought to increase public education funding from Harrisburg.  Jim will continue that fight and will also use that funding to hold the line on property taxes.
• Supporting our EMS, Police and Fire Departments.  As Mayor of Avoca Jim hired additional full-time police officers, the first woman police officers and increased funding to the Fire Department.
• Jim has been a small business owner for 35 years. Jim knows first hand the challenges that small business owners face each day to revitalize our communities and create jobs.  Jim will fight every day and be a champion for the small business community.
